i wouldn't be too sure about the old Yoplait. the Lid campaign is a marketing technique. as long as they use milk from cows treated with recombinant bovine growth hormone, they are causing more cancers than they are "curing"

its kind of like Astra-Zeneca (makers of tamoxofin) sponsering the month of October, the breast cancer walks, etc. its a nice big public relations commercial for them but if someone found a cure for breast cancer, they'd be out of business.

by the way, i was in Paris a few years ago and needed a snack that was easy to eat in my hotel room. all the corner market had was a Yoplait yogurt. Gag! i never eat that crap- you can taste the synthetic additives. even the texture is fake. but it was all they had so i bought it. imagine my shock when it turned out to be the most incredibly fresh, delicious yogurt i had ever tasted to that point. it was nothing at all like the Yoplait sold in the States.

i've since learned that Dannon is also different. our government protects industry profits at the expense of people's health. the Yoplait company is allowed to use chemicals that have not been definatively proven to cause cancer by themselves. in europe, they follow the "precautinary principal" which means that if a substance is suspect, it can'r be used. the manufacturer would have to prove conclusively that the substance can't cause cancer.

so all american companies make two grades of their products- a cheap toxin laden product that is dumped on their fellow americans and a safe, more delicious, less synthetic version to satisfy european standards.

even china exports two grades of plywood, one held together with formaldahyde glues because our government allows this and one held together with non-toxic glues because europe won't accept any formaldahyde.

you have to understand that these companies and our government, sadly, pay a lot of lip service to fighting cancer and maintaining health, but we have almost the worst rated health care system and what the government really protects is the right of corporations to make enormous profits at your expense.

no one willl "cure" cancer because they make too much money treating it. you need to be suspicious of any corporate entity that masks advertising under a clock of fake do-gooderism
